Video {Auto focus vs. manual focus}

Video {Auto focus vs. manual focus}

How auto focus works Ok. I will admit when I got my Sony a9 I feel in love with the facial tracking. With my Canon Mark III I was shooting with manual focus and while it was ok… it was a pain. But one thing I really dislike about the auto focal tracking in video, especially with wide open apertures, is the seeking. The camera locks on pretty well..ok… more then pretty well, but there are times when something comes in front of the subject or the camera wants to focus behind the...
Let your creative spirit out

Let your creative spirit out

  In the winter time it can be a very uncreative time for me.  So this year I decided as I was waiting for spring to bloom I would play with still life. Make time

Make time to take pictures when family is visiting. My daddy was here at our house for the fist time in 12 years. We typically go and visit them when we go to Georgia. I can’t wait for him to get it!!!! My dad is a pretty funny guy. He is the owner of Eagle Ridge Buildings in North GA…so...

We created two new Simplified Field Guides this month that are perfect for this time of year. The first is Simplified Window...
The Creative Process

The Creative Process

Today was a day where I had some time to get creative and I felt inspired by a new record cover I recently got. I love the soft colors and the vintage vibe. But what was I going to do with it? I started by just laying it down and shooting it from above. I pulled the actual record out a bit just so it was obvious...
