Kid’s beginner Photography Workshop, August 9th

Kid’s beginner Photography Workshop, August 9th

School is quickly approaching…can you believe it? We can’t. It seemed to zip by. We have one last amazing photo opportunity for your  kids ages 8 and older. We have partnered with Wolfes Camera Shop and The Kansas Museum of History to explore camera basics and a little bit about photography history. Any photo skill level is welcome.  We do require a parent to attend with a child… which  is a bonus! As they are photographing at home you will be able to help them with their...
Wild Child Photography Adventure Class – Lensbaby and Macro addition

Wild Child Photography Adventure Class – Lensbaby and Macro addition

Last weekend we had a wonderful kids + camera workshop on a super rainy day! The rain didn’t matter much because we were taking pictures at Holton Greenhouse. It was the prefect fix for the rainy day blues and it was so fun teaching and watching kids photograph flowers. We also were excited to be able to borrow a few lenses from our friends at Lensbaby! We LOVE teaching with these lenses. Lensbaby lenses aren’t a “beginner lenses” or easy lens to use! In fact they take...
Why we love teaching kids photography… AND a huge announcement at the end!

Why we love teaching kids photography… AND a huge announcement at the end!

“The camera is an insturment that teaches people how to see with our a camera.” – Dorthea Lange Kids + Photography… it’s a combination I can’t ever get enough of! Kim and I have talked about writing a kids photography book for years! There’s just not a lot out there, and we have so much to say we can’t possibly cover it in a 2 hour class. So, why? Why bother handing a camera to a child? Why sign them up for a photography class? There are several...

Also follow the link at the end of this post to view some eye candy from another photographer friend, KC Crow, an Orange County Family Photographer. Today was another cold snow day, and I decided to make it a little more fun by coming up with a Winter Wonderland photo scavenger hunt. We had a blast and I wanted to share some snow photography tips and...

The Kids found the flying pig

The Kids found the flying pig

There was no school in our area last Thursday, so we took the opportunity to host a little photography hike. Amy likes to hide weird and silly things for kids to find during our Adventure Guide Photo hikes. Often it is a little gnome, but today it as a colorful flying pig (made of metal and stolen from her in-laws backyard, not a real flying pig, silly).  We headed out for an exciting hour of photography… a bit windy but otherwise a great day for an adventure. Everyone had a list of...
