After you read this post, be sure to follow the Click Away blog circle! This blog post leads to KC Crow, an Orange County family photographer (The Crows Nest). I had the honor of meeting her Click Away!
Ahhhh, Florida. You make me so happy!! Click Away has been an amazing adventure the last few years for us. We’ve only missed one year when it was held in Texas. Last year we were in Seattle, and this year we were at Amelia Island in Florida where it was warm and just so lovely, and even the sea fog was beautiful! (that was a first for me!… Sea fog! It felt a little bit like walking around in a cloud!)
For the second year in a row, Kim and I were honored to teach at Click Away, an amazing conference full of inspiration and learning for photographers… 99% of whom are woman! We taught two boutique sessions called “Stills to Motion” that were all about introducing video to your portrait sessions. Our talks and shoots went so well, and we heard from many woman that are excited to start practicing video. We let everyone try their hand at shooting stills and motion and encouraged everyone to begin capturing these moments for their clients and their own family.
Kim’s sister Kelli and her daughter Caroline were our gracious and beautiful models. I was amazed that we even had enough footage to create a little video for her. We seriously were talking and teaching so much I was a little worried we wouldn’t have enough clips, but we had plenty and had lots of pictures to share too. Here’s what we put together…
This year was so exciting, and just beautiful. We met so many ladies and were instantly friends with all of them. I’ll admit that even as an introvert I was pretty energized until the flight home when I just wanted to sleep for a week. 🙂 Back in Kansas… icy roads, parent teacher conferences, and reality…we were exhausted, but it was the good kind… where you just can’t quit smiling thinking about our time in Florida.
A huge THANK YOU to ZEISS lenses for sponsoring us. When we switched from our DSLR’s to the new Sony a9, we decided to look into some ZEISS glass, and never looked back! We sold our gear and replaced everything with Sony and ZEISS. It was a little bit of an adjustment at first, learning a new system, but the results were so amazing and we won’t ever look back! I could write another blog post about Sony and Zeiss but I’ll save that one for another day. 🙂
I’m still riding the emotional and inspirational high that comes from experiences like these. It was the perfect time to go too, as we gear up for spring sessions and new adventures!
And here you go! Here’s an amazing Orange County family photographer, The Crows Nest, who also blogged about Click Away! I really loved experiencing Click Away through KC’s eyes all over again! Every experience is so different!! Keep following the circle to see more!
